PERSONAL SELF DEFENSE CLASS

WHEN: Saturday, May 8th

COST: $20

This class is geared towards anyone who wants to learn some verbal and physical techniques of self defense. Open to anyone age 12 and older. It doesn’t matter what your physical abilities are; everyone can learn something.

Course Description

Come and build your confidence and increase your awareness by learning some basic self-defense techniques. You will learn punching, kicking, stomping, escaping from wrist and shoulder grabs and bear hugs. You will learn the areas of the body that are vulnerable to attack. You will use elbows and knees to attack. You will practice verbal techniques to help yourself take charge. Most of all you will have fun and build your confidence. This is an interactive class so come prepared to participate and practice new skills.

Instructor Qualifications
Connie Benjamin is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in TaeKwonDo and a 1st Degree Black Belt in Hapkido. She has been practicing and teaching martial arts for 14 years, with a special interest in teaching self-defense. Connie is a licensed social worker and probation officer, with experience in child protection and domestic violence. She currently works as a probation officer with domestic violence offenders.
